Biography / CV of Anna Rubincam

She began her training as a stonemason at Weymouth College in Dorset in 2007. The following year she became an apprentice with St. Blaise Ltd, a restoration company that specialized in historic buildings across the south of England.

In 2011, Anna began the Historic Carving Post-Graduate Course at the City and Guilds of London Art School. During the course, she learned the full spectrum of skills needed to design and execute a project, from initial sketches, to clay modelling, to carving the final piece.

Anna has worked in France and Italy as a carver, and in the UK as a stonemason, restoring ecclesiastical and listed buildings, private homes and historic monuments.

While at City and Guilds, Anna was awarded bursaries from the Worshipful Company of Masons and was part of the team that created the prow sculpture for the Royal Jubilee Barge in June 2012.

Anna graduated in June 2013 and will be working as Carving Fellow for City and Guilds in 2013/14
